[This Just In]

CLUBLAND

Let’s try that again

By Sam Pfeifle

Eggbot has found a new home. Again.

The eccentric and talented farfisa organ-player found himself out on the street in January after the closing of the upstairs room at the Stone Coast ended his popular Monday-night extravaganza. Then he made a go of Mondays at the Better End, but that didn’t really work out and, hey, the Better End’s closed now anyway.

If you’re looking for a pattern — i.e. clubs featuring Eggbot close up shop — keep an eye on the Free Street Taverna, as that’s where Eggbot will be installing himself on Wednesday nights as of April 11.

“I’m a lot more psyched about Wednesday,” he says, “that’s the day you get itchy.” It’s certainly better than Mondays. “Even I didn’t want to be there on Mondays,” Eggbot admits.

The new show will be more of a “multi-media thing,” he says, where one week you might chance upon “typical Eggbot, with games and prizes. The next week might be a celebrity roast. We’ll build a dais, and get a panel of worthy celebrities to actually do this roasting. It could be kind of blue, it could be an adult thing, but it will be fun, Eggbot will make sure it’s fun.”

Whatever’s happening, it will start around 9 p.m., and, for the time being anyway, will have no cover.
