Generally accepted to have the best BBQ in Portsmouth, the Muddy River is also a big supporter of the local music scene, giving many a band a break during their Thursday Rock Nights. The menu has everything from meat to meat, with a meat salad here and there. Local and regional bands play Thurs. at 8 p.m., Fri. and Sat. at 9 p.m. Open Sun. through Wed. from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Thurs. through Sat. from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the restaurant, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. downstairs.
