Yes, it’s true what you’ve heard about Geno’s: They’re moving the whole thing to the old Skinny building on upper Congress Street, which seems like a pretty good idea to us. No word yet on a possible opening night, but it might not take that long, since the place was already somewhat renovated by the people who wanted to make it Congress Hall. Also, Geno’s ripped just about everything out of the old place, so you’ll see plenty of familiar stuff in the new place. Speaking of the Skinny, Johnny Lomba checked in earlier this week saying he’s thinking he may actually get his new Skinny, in the old Whit’s End building on Congress Street, up and running by July, maybe even late June. Great news. With Geno’s, Skinny, and SPACE, and the Stadium all playing live music on the weekend on Congress Street, it could make for a great scene. Did we mention that Graham Isaacson, new singer/songwriter with the money voice on the scene, is the son of Jamie Isaacson, the guy who runs the North Atlantic Blues Festival? Yep. Not sure if it’s a good thing to have such music appreciation in the household — Graham may have gotten the crazy notion that he could make a living making music, which is just unfair.
