Do you enjoy wearing lots of black, alternative capitalization, wearing heavy chains as accessories, and playing death metal? Are you also a bassist? Well, then, theatrical rockers audioblacK want you. Email antonio@audioblack.com.

Still pining for the old Zootz dance night? No, really, still? Well, Zootz veteran Shawn Saindon has got your fix. His "Viva Revolution," every Saturday night in the Asylum downstairs has got all the ’80s dance tunes you can handle, and has been the instigator of more than a few conversations about the old Zootz. The tagline? "Dance tragically to new wave, no wave, indie, Brit pop, and more." Who could resist that? Not the "Sibilance" staff, surely.

The KingPin Wrecking Crew, the Portland area’s finest Christian-rock stageshow, have announced that they’ve signed a three-record deal with Chosen Records, a Christian label out of Philadelphia. "We are honored to join forces with Chosen Records and a band like Unspoken," explains drummer Darren Elder in a press release. "We have been given this opportunity to share, through music, the fact that Christ has changed our lives and we are very, very grateful." The first of the three Chosen records is expected in November.

Pete Kilpatrick reports good news in regard to his plans to take over the world. "We just licensed our album to MTV’s The Real World and Road Rules," he says. "So our tunes are going to start being played during drunk hookup sessions and breakups." (The "Sibilance" staff admit to having this be a personal dream of theirs, to see themselves on TV, snogging some drunken sot behind the back of a supposed significant other, while Pete Kilpatrick’s sweet croon plays in the background. We propose a new reality show: The Real Phoenix, whereby the general public will be made privy to all the exciting things that go on in the offices of a small-city alternative weekly. Watch drunken editor Sam Pfeifle pass out at his desk again! See the "Sibilance" staff chained to their desks! See Associate Publisher Marc Shepard successfully drive his staff to greatness with only minimal threats of physical harm!) Oh, also, Pete Kilpatrick will be featured on Decent Xposure 7, which will also feature big-heads OAR and Marc Broussard.

Dominic and the Lucid checked in this week to say they’ll be in the Studio with Jim Begley starting August 31 to begin laying down drum tracks for their debut full-length album, which they’ll also be recording in their home studio. However, "There is no set completion date, we’re focused on putting out a great album, and we have no plans to rush anything." Does that spell "three years in the making" to anyone else?

Doubtful that any "Sibilance" readers actually read the "Books" page as well, but we recently reported about a CD/comic book called Tales from the Copper Age, penned by Tom Brown. This week he announced that the second issue will contain accompanying music from Spouse, and it’s likely there will be music from bands on X-Act Records on issue three. We consider this to be a very cool development.
